Legal I, Course # 47600 Course credit hours: 4; Provider REALTOR Academy - 8 Legal I is a required continuing education course (CE) course that all license holders are mandated to take to renew their license. This course encompasses a detailed discussion regarding various laws, regulations, and guidelines that affect real estate license holders. This four-hour course provides a strong foundation in the latest legal and ethical procedures. KEY POINTS • Key TREC rule updates • How license holders can get involved in the rulemaking process • Licensing related bills that were passed during the 87th Texas legislative session • Important changes to promulgated forms of which license holders need to be aware, including provisions related to accessories, leases, earnest money and options, and escrow • New contract addenda and substantive changes to current addenda • Best practices related to back-up offers, appraisal addendum issues, and escalation clauses • Fair housing, discrimination, and fair housing investigations • Property management issues, particularly related to legislative changes and reasonable accommodation and modification Methods of Delivery: • In-Person instructor led live classroom, or • Instructor led live virtual classroom. • Students are expected to invest at least 15 hours of self-study outside of the classroom experience. In the event of cancellation, all fees paid will promptly be refunded in full or will be applied to another class at the registrants’ discretion.Refund Policy: For CE courses, a full refund or credit will be made/applied to any registrant who has paid tuition and canceled or reschedules prior to two business days of the course. A refund, less a $10 service fee will be applied to any registrant who cancels or reschedules within two business days of the course. There are no refunds for same day cancelations (day of class) and for partial attendance.
